[Mk2] [Turbo] insurance ahhhh

Post by milesmr2 »

soo annoyed, really want to get my mr2 turbo asap and got a quote on moneysupermarket the other day as being 20 with 3 years no claims for about a grand with liverpool victoria which i was pretty happy with but when i tried to follow the link to the website i had to fill another quote out and then it said that they wouldnt insure me until im 21!!
all the others were like 3grand pluss!!!i tried sky aswell(who were really helpful and knew what they were talking about) but unfortunatly they cant do it till im 21 either:(
Is there any other companys i can try that people know i could get insured with for not a ridiculous amount of money?any help would be greatly appreciated as i want to get one asap, i dont want to have to wait till august!!!

thanks guys

if you do find someone to insure you at 20 its going to be a sky high premium as the car is a group 20 insurance.

Id just wait till your 21 and save yourself thousands, its only 7 months away

Hi,

thanks for the feedback, did my colleague give you an alternative number to phone?

Add a couple of other drivers, like your Dad, girlfriend etc, state on the quote form that you drive another car on a regular basis (you won't have to give details) and limit your mileage to about 7000 a year.

Obviously the above must all be true 8)

Bell are pretty cheap. Im probably going to go with them next week when i get my tubby. Ill be 21 the day i get and insure it. Adrian flux are quite good to. I looked at liverpool victoria but they dont insure imports :(

Yeah Admiral are worth a phone, I used to be with them.

I'm with Tesco just now who are great, I'm 23 with 3 years no claim and I'm about £600 fully comp.

You will struggle to find somewhere that will insure under 21 and an import. I found it hard enough getting a decent quote for my import but you'll get there :thumleft:
