[Mk2] [Turbo] TD06 advice?

Post by TRDave »

Hi.

The garage has fitted my ATS TD06 for me and it goes well but at the moment its on standard boost.

I thought i would up the boost a couple of psi to around 17 with a grainger valve.

Basically i put the valve in line with bootom actuator pipe and turbo.
The results were just a lot of over boost and fuel cut etc so i have returned it to normal?

What did i do wrong as i thought i could run higher?
Also the garage have the top actuator pipe connected to nothing is that right?

Cheers
Dave

well i love my tdo6 it might be a bit old now but when it comes on boost nothing comes close to the power. anyway here is my set up

http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/garage.php ... e_id=10322

i have a tial wasegate so i am only going from what i have, on the wastegate the is a suction and pressure side, i have mine 't'ed into the inlet side so it opens that way. i had trouble setting my ebc up i should have taken a picture of it when it was all in as the engine is half out at the min waiting for some major work next year.
sorry couldnt be a load of help or any.

Sorry to hear that buddy
But you are a one off my friend!

Greddy kits have boost creep massively!
the ATS kit is a killer turbo for its size- awesome.

if your overboosting with an mbc its a plumbing issue.

ps dont up your boost until you have sent your entire spec to ats and asked them what psi is safe.

or use a wideband.

Thats not how you do it

you need to tee into the pipe going from the turbo to wastegate bottom
then go from this tee to the mbc and then off to the top of the wastegate
