Leather Gear Knob
Is that OEM? If so where might i get one?
Does the handbrake handle/gator come in leather too?
Re: Leather Gear Knob
Contact Rhon and she will cover your current one for a lot less than £60

Re: Leather Gear Knob
Leather knob has been covered above. (I recommend contacting Rhon as well - or find a breaker...)
As for the handbrake... no. Every one I've seen is plastic (this applies for handle and gaitor).
You're in a bit of a leather mood at the moment, aren't you?

Umm
But its so much more tactile to the touch than plastics.....
Re: Leather Gear Knob
You're lucky you don't want blue. Toyota have discontinued all interior blue parts for the Mk1. I got Rhon to cover mine.
Re: Leather Gear Knob

I thought that cars with blue interiors still had a black gear knob.
And it is nice to see that Toyota have come to their senses, blue interiors should have been discontinued 20 years ago

Re: Leather Gear Knob
I received my order from Rhon today, and its top class!
I bought a white leather gearstick gaitor and its terrific! Broke the sodding tab on the underside of centre console but gaffer tape is strong stuff!
Bought white leather inserts to replace the crappy suede inserts.
I forgot about asking her about a leather handbrake gaitor.

My new car has a nice leather handbrake. Looks pretty original to me as well.

My gear knob is genuine Toyota and is leather, some came with leather some plastic. As mentioned already Rhon does a excellent leather gearstick shroud in leather at a super price and she can re-cover gearknobs. This is one her gaiters ( my choice of contrast stitching )

Is that the gear knob or H/brake lever Jon ? if you can supply a gearknob, then i can supply the h/brake lever if anyone wants one , cheers, Jinxy
Re: Leather Gear Knob
I have a black leather gearknob in mine and I've always wondered wheter it was an original toyota item or not. It is different to the one in the pics above - it has a plastic insert on the top of the knob that shows where the gears are - it exactly matches the little plaque on the centre console. I've never seen one on any other MR2s. A photo would be useful, but I'm at the opposite end of the country to the car at the mo!
Cheers

Re: Leather Gear Knob
If you're interested still, I can recover an original gearknob for £17 inc p&p. I have black or blue leather (as well as others) and will top stitch with whichever colour thread you prefer, whether it be to keep standard or with a contrasting thread.

I want a round shift knob and buddy plays golf so I asked for a ball.
Of all them Wilsons, Titleists, Slazengers, Taylor Mades, Dixons etc. this is the one he gives me. Something to do with my huge ego, he said.
