FOGLIGHT motorised vs none motorised

Post by Paul Cawston »

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if you can replace a standard uk foglight
(none motorised) with a Jap version (motorised) ? ? ? ?

Are the connections the same etc ?

Thanks all.

They dont move up and down, they move side to side, so if you steer left they will turn left, and vice-versa :)

Im a bit bleak on this subject, they could be fitted to all Turbo GT's or just ones up to rev3 or even rev2. I didnt get any one G-limited (being high spec as it is) :?:

I believe you can replace a standard UK front foglight with a Jap motorised version - although it will not move as you turn the steering wheel.

Also, I think the motorised version just has an extra connection to it - which can be ignored if fitting to a UK car.

I have myself a motorised fogligh to replace my misted up UK unit - but I've never got round to drilling out the screws to remove it yet.

If your car didn't come with them from Factory (EG - UK)
Then you won't have the:
Wiring loom,
The ECU that controls them
Or the sensor on the Steering coloumn.

A lot of hassle to retrofit if you want them to move!

Note that the outer glass does not move, All movement is internal - using the
reflector to direct the beam in the direction you are steering.
