A decent carnauba wax will suffice.

Autoglym super resin is fine, though it does cut the paintwork and leave annoying white bits.

Avoid stuff like Zymol unless you already have 'MUG' tattoed on your forehead.

yep i use the three stage stuff now.stage 1 removes the oxidation and crap,it also gets rid of all the swirls.as said stage 2 is the polish and three the wax. i was very doubtfull untill i tried it.now i`ll swear by it. easy to use as well no real hard rubbing envolved.it leaves a superb glass like shine and the rain just runs off.

Autoglym shampoo then autoglym max gloss protection. Check out the shine on my old car after spending a good couple of hours on it:

Look down the side of the car

Or here:

I don't have problems with the white spots on the car form the autoglym stuff, just takes an extra pass round :)

How??

I use autoglym Resin every now and then as it removes a slight layer, then follow it with the autoglym gold stuff, looks superb. Then once a week i put on turtle wax black polish , but the shines not as good

Because it is stupidly over-priced so you'd have to be a mug to buy it.

Common sense:

I use Autoglym on my car I find these products excellent. I have a Dark Green Car, I use it 15k a year therefore stone chips so.... I have Turtle wax "Colour Magic" dark green wax for the front end, this solves the problem of seeing stones chips.
