[Mk2] [Turbo] HKS SQV Fins

Post by KoLaBoTTle »

Anyone changed the fin on the standard HKS SQV BOV?

Bored of the standard sound lol but can't afford to change it, anyone heard them or tried them? :-k

I took 2 of the 3 fins out. Left one there. Sounds awesome! Best I've heard. Most people that have been in my car will agree! :thumleft:

hks ssqv

i took out the fins yesterday and replaced them with the re-circ adaptor so i can feed the dumped air back in for that extra response, i done this thinking that it wouldn't effect the sound, how wrong was i!!! ](*,)

can barely hear anything, roll on the weekend so i can put it back in.

a mate of mine has one on his 200sx and bought the different fins, said it was a complete waste of time and money as it never changed a thing.

luke- did you literally just saw them out??

what sort of sound is it now as i love the sound of the ssqv and would hate to ruin it by cutting them out!! #-o

I had the pupple fin and it sounded poo. I put the normal fin back in after a week and sold the purple fin. Waste of time. I have heard that the hks is ment to sound nice with no fin in at all but i havent tried :-k

no fins

Post by steve---o »

i tried that today, took the fins out and tried it for a bit.

sounds pretty decent as it goes, put the fins back in again now and will see which i prefer later when i pick the girlfriend up.

its kind of a quiet weird sound, similar to the old style hks trumpet looking bov.

That was a cool video mate. Great day that WRA seeing that brought back memorys of the tunnel haha. Valve sounded good reminded me of my old blitz dump valve, Might have to take the fin out for a bit now :-k

Once fins are cut, it would be difficult to re-attach..

Clips of single fin would be good
