Hi to all the godly beings that comb these pages........ :D

Iv just been thinking, didnt the older style IMOC site used to have a review of different brands of tyres? :-k

Or am i thinking of my darker 'Drivers Club' years...... :lol:

Hi Si,

Yes you are quite correct on the older IMOC site, pre forum there was a list of tyres and you could put in your view on them by giving them a rating.

This was lost when the old site dissapeared.

That said, it was a bit biased IMO, mainly due to the inherent problem you get of people rating tyres by giving a high score, without experience of trying others, so the most popular tyres were not necessarily the best choice, if you get where i'm coming from.

There are plans a foot for a number of additions to the site, i think in the garage section that tyres can be rated, but it may not be so easy to work out an overall rating for tyres. hmmm.

I think the tyre thing would be useful but like Lauren said its so fraught with misinformation, different tyres could feel different on different cars, react differently depending on tread left, plus really you can only fairly compare under the same conditions etc etc etc.

Plus I think what happens alot is as tyres (and other components) wear out gradually you get used to them, so when there replaced they seem amazing, even if there mediocre.
