Mk.2 Rv.2 Turbo.
I was fitting missing clips on the recirculator valve outlet hose and checked as many of the other hoses condition as I could. The hose that leads from the metal turbo outlet pipe to (What I'm guessing is) the intercooler appears to have a rather large bulge on the side closest to the metal pipe that leads to the manifold. It is also easier to compress in this area. Is the hose knackered? And if so what would you recommend to replace it with? Or is a standard silicon hose okay?
Since I replaced the mising clips on the recirc valve there is less hiss (when I lift off the throttle from boost) than there was but it still sounds like there's a little. Is this normal or do I still have a slight leak there?

sounds like the pipe has blistered or has been fitted incorrectly at some point and a weak point created. i would change it as it will probably turn to a hole at some point.
