Hey, I'm running Falkens on the front and found them to be a vast improvement, nice wet and dry grip and the shoulder isn't too square so fits nicely under the arches with a 40mm drop all round. AND they're only about £63 each!!! :D

They're 451's by the way

...and they just lowered their prices - now the same money as Kumho Ecsta 712's but allegedly superior.

I'd just ordered some Kumho's for my dad from Camskill (for his rover75) and Camskill called me up to see if i wanted to switch to Falkens since the price was now identical. They were certainly singing the praises of the Falkens, though i've yet to try them myself.

I had Falken 512s on the back of my n/a and they were very good in the dry, although less trustworthy in the wet. Great price and a nice tread pattern IMHO.

I've just put Toyo T1Rs all round on my tubby. The comparison isn't really a fair one as I didn't have Falkens all round, and obviously it was a different car, but so far I'd say the Toyos are much better in the wet than the Falkens and quite a bit more grippy in the dry.

I think there was a thread on either here or the MR2DC forum about Falkens. IIRC the person concerned put a set on the back and thought the Falkens were dreadful, that is until they put some on the front also and found it completely transformed the handling. MR2s are quite sensitive to tyre pressures even, so different tyres front and back can easily upset the balance when you're on the edge of adhesion.

I'm no expert - just some facts I've gathered along the way!

I've used them in the past and have a set on my spare 17's at the moment, one of the best 'budget' tyre ranges around IMO - a little bit lacking in the wet compared to more expensive options but close in the dry.

i'm looking forward to when i can get some proxes put on mine. These Falkens seem a bit wobbly to me. (not sure which tyre model, just that they're falkens). My car feels much happier on Toyo's.
