My mr2 will be going wide arch soon but can't decide on wheels
Iv narrowed it down to 2 but still torn between them. It's not my daily it's a weekend car but can't afford to spend too much at the moment with so much else going on
Ok so the wheels in question. One set is 16s the other 17s
The 16s are steelies. Bare with me before you say no! They're deep dish and although I'm not 100% on the design (and material) they won't need spacers. If anything the fronts sit too far out so il need to extend the arches more. They might look tiny being 16s but hopefully the wide dishes will make up for it
I'm not keen on black wheels but I think they will hide the design and having a black theme against red could work
The 17s are nicer. And actual alloys lol. Concave with the spokes going all the way to the rim so will look spot on. Only down side is they'll need 30mm spacers at the back. Fronts wil sit perfect
So do I go for the better wheels with spacers or cheat with some steel alloy wannabes and extend the front arches?
16s: 8j et -25
17s: 9j et20

Have you looked at how heavy the steel wheels are? Most of them are very heavy compared to alloy wheels.

I thought 16s would be ok? I'll check
It isn't a track car so if there's not much in it I wouldn't mind

One of my friends had some 16x7 steels on the front of his, they were heavier than the 18x8 cast wheels he replaced, and they were on the heavy side to start with.

Fair enough
They're no longer an option anyway- replaced by -10j only so I'd still need a spacer
Should've checked before I started this thread lol

Iv changed my mind on the first 2. Narrowed it down to these 3
Rota kyusha 17s
7twenty style 49 17s
JR10s 16s
Similar 16s on a mk2

That's what I'm leaning towards
Any thoughts on 16s with the abflug arches?

Depends on widths / offets / tyres. Problem with 16's is you'll struggle to find anything decent in wider than 225, which will look a bit anorexic under bolt on arches.

The JRs are 16x9 et10. Obviously with spacers
Front il either go 16x9 et20 or 16x8 et10
