Surely you go and look at a car before you win it, not after.

Re: Can anyone Around Manchester Come view A Car with me
Be nice peter your probably his closest specialist.

There's not much to check over compared to a different car sean albeit id imagine the seller is expecting you to be just picking it up.
Whilst your with the seller check if the hoses from hell have been done, if they haven't put it on a list of things to do sooner rather than later.
Ask about the timing belt but it's not essential it's been done recently as there a non interference engine.

When you get it home peel back the boot carpet and check the top corners are solid, then inspect the sills and rear arches and around rear bumper, the imports tend to rust less so if it's solid think about undersealing it soon.
Also look up removing the sill sponges.

And if there is one make sure you get the locking wheel nut key

Re: Can anyone Around Manchester Come view A Car with me
rule number 1.
Never bid on a car you've not seen.

Re: Can anyone Around Manchester Come view A Car with me
Standard stuff really
- if it seems well looked after then it generally will be ie.
clean interior, half decent paint, wheels is good nick etc.
Saying that though the engine bay of mine was filthy when I picked it up and she's turned out to be very healthy!

As for the mechanicals just listen for funny noises, smoke on boost, any weird boost characteristics such as fuel cut and misfiring, knocking sounds on bumps and full lock, temperature gauge sitting anywhere other than just under half.

And finally as the others have said rust, not always visible until you go digging unfortunately though

Also steer clear of dodgy Halfords mods

One good thing if bidding on e gay is if it doesnt match up to the description
(faults found that wasnt on the description) then you are entitled to walk away as
"not as described".

Unless of course, those faults were found to be De Minimis.

Issues in law found to be De Minimis are of so little significance, they are deemed irrelevant to the case in hand.

Re: Can anyone Around Manchester Come view A Car with me
In this case pete im assuming the minions would be things like minor scratches, defects, oil leaks etc.
That would be considered resonable for a car of that particular age to have?

is it that one?, seems like hes been upfront if it is.
Also, it says you can go view it first etc.

Really you should be handing your money over, he won't be happy if he's a listing fee short and has to relist.

It depends on the wording off the advert.

Toyota MR2 Turbo GT T-bar 1995

1995 N plate
rev.3 with factory fit LSD.

Registered 1st November 1995, Imported to the UK September 2004.

2000cc Petrol

113,321 miles

MOT until February 2016.

This is a good example of an original factory standard car without any detractive modifications.
The car has been well looked after and is a pleasure to drive.

My Partner and I drove around Europe last summer covering a good 2000 mile journey and it did not miss a beat.

Reluctantly selling due to lack of use as working away and house renovation is taking over priorities.

Performance wise
for reference, our previous 2nd car was a Skyline R32 GTR V-spec with circa 400bhp and the MR2 is pretty similar in acceleration and performance
but being smaller and lighter is more agile, and a lot more economical to run.

This is a 20yr old car so please dont expect something that has just come out of the production line or showroom.
The car is used but has been well cared for.
There are some areas with minor blemishes due to age and original unmolested paintwork, but this is reflected fairly in the advertised price.

Also included is an extensive list of receipts for service, maintenance and parts since the car was imported in 2004.

The current spec' includes the following;

Original engine with well renowned Rev3 3S-GTE engine and gearbox
(with limited slip diff)

Factory standard
245bhp with fantastic performance.

Cam-belt change carried out approx.
20k ago.

Chassis dynamics
- Corner weighting and suspension geometry all set-up by Demon Tweeks in 2014.

EBC Disks
& Ferrodo DS2500 Front and Rear Brake Pads

(Rears not fitted at present as current units fitted are in good serviceable order

Goodrich Stainless Steel braided hoses fitted

Full set of Toyo R1R tyres fitted.

Full Leather
/ Alacantara interior.

Electric windows and Retractable wing mirrors.

Removable glass roof

(2 sections independently
storage cases intact that secure behind seats in correct location).

Front and rear strut braces.

Full set of locking wheel nuts.

Original MR2 mats.

Alpine CD/MP3.

Factory Subwoofer in centre rear console.

Thatcham 1 approved alarm and immobiliser fitted.

Comes with 2 keys.

Recent New Items:

New Battery
- 4yr Warranty

MOBIL 1
- 10W40 Super 2000 Semi Synth Engine Oil 5L

Bosch Engine Oil Filter

Full Wiper Blade set

Goodrich Stainless Braided Hose Set
(Full Car)

Ferrodo DS2500 Brake Pads
(Full Car)

EBC Spotted Brake Discs
(Full Car)

(Rear Pads, discs
& braided hoses will come with car, not fitted at present as current units fitted are in good serviceable order).

2 x TOYO R1R Front Tyres 205/50 R15 86V R1R

Alloy Radiator

NGK spark plugs

Blue Dot Race spec Brake Fluid

Radiator Cap

Toyota 4LIFE system coolant

Please contact me for more information.
Vehicle available for viewing upon arrangement.

This is a genuine well-balanced classic car that is very fast, low maintenance and a sheer delight to drive which also provides for a fantastic investment.

I'd prefer cash on collection for winning bidder.

Thanks and happy bidding.

De Minimis can apply in any legal action.

For instance, a yellow line PCN.

In the case of the description of a used car, it would be a finding of the court as to whether an issue was DM.

On a car described as show quality, minor scratches would be a no-no.

Let's say sump seal is damp.

So DM is always going to be related to the case in hand.

And yes, you're right.
