Rev 3 GTS Turbo Import - reduced £3500

Post by Santos91 »

Don't post much on here even though i had full intentions of creating a build thread, but never got round to it but sadly the time as come where I'm seriously considering selling my 2 which I have had for about 4 years. I am at the point where i am just not using the car as much as i would like and i just do not have the funds to progress my project and i would rather not the car be sitting about for a year or more when someone else could get good use of it and start their own project. The car has been sitting in a storage unit since last October, i took it out last week and drove about 100 miles, the car starts first time with no issues, pulls really well in every gear.

So the car is a 1994 L reg Revision 3 turbo GTS in Ford Frozen White 119k miles. I have all receipts for everything that has been done on the car along with the receipts that previous owners past through with the car. The car has never failed an MOT while i have owned it, any advisories have been rectified immediately. The last MOT has an advisory for brake discs being scored or pitted but not serious, i checked with my mechanic and have been told its nothing to worry about. Car is currently MOT'd and runs out on the 14th September this year.

Under my ownership the car has done around 8k miles.

Lot's of other parts have been changed throughout my ownership such as the radiator, front anti roll bars, rear boot gaitors, rear drive shaft to name a few. Many more parts have been changed to help keep the car maintained.

Timing belt was changed less than 5k miles ago
Car was mapped to 1Bar boost with Apexi PFC. Was recommended to upgrade to Walbro 255 fuel pump as the injectors are maxed out.

Bodywork and Wheels -
I have all pictures throughout the respray and sills being chopped and welded.
  • Full respray with colour change from SMG to Ford Frozen White
    Sills cut out and welded
    Modified Sard front bumper
Modified TOMs rear bumper with diffuser
    Toms side skirts
    Replica Rev 5 spoiler
    Lenso D1r 17" alloys

Interior -
  • Replica Nardi Classic steering wheel
    TRD gear knob
Evo IV Recaro seats with custom rails
    Kenwood headunit
White lockwood dials with red LEDs

Modifications -
  • Greddy Side Mount Intercooler.
    HKS SSQV Blow off value
BC Racing BR Series Type RA Coilovers - fitted 10/7/14 covered less that 1000 miles
Apexi PowerFC ECU and hand commander
EBC Drilled and grooved brake disc with yellow stuffpads all round
non branded straight through twin single exhaust
    HKS Turbo Timer
    Apexi Air filter

Security -
  • Car is fitted with a Toad AI606 alarm and immobiliser

Extra parts that will come with the car -
  • All standard bodywork panels removed to fit body kit (front bumper with splitter, rear bumper, side vents, spoiler)
Spare front wings that have no rust at all.

Bad Points -
  • Rear passenger side arch has bubble - nothing major more of a cosmetic issue rather than anything structural - see pictures
Rear passenger alloy has slight kerb mark

Price i would be looking for is around £3750.

Car is currently situated near Glasgow, Scotland.

More pictures can be supplied on request, if anyone is serious about the car, a video can be taken to show it running.

Thanks

Now that is one sexy car. Love the black highlights.

And best seats ever (though I maybe biased as I have the same)

MR2's just aren't selling for the prices they deserve. Only clean, unmodified examples with low mileage are selling for £3.5k + (Including extreme power builds and rare Rev4/Rev5 Turbos).

Was dyno'd at 232 at the wheels with 1 Bar boost. which was due to the injectors being maxed, so it was unsafe to try an get anymore out of it until a new fuel pump and/or fuel pressure regulator was fitted. This was my next plan for the car hence buying the 850cc sard injectors.

300 BHP give or take. Cant get accurate result unless you put the engine on an engine dyno.

No its not, sadly. 232whp = circa 265bhp fly. About right for the mods on the car.

Nice looking car with good spec, imho though, price probably is a tad high..
There were a handful of similar specced but forged builds that came up recently at around this price and did last year too. Also this has been modded to your taste and from experience its hard to find someone else that wants all the same stuff as you so they wont see the value. Im sure if you can hold on for a while longer someone might come along eventually :thumleft:

Can't believe I've only just noticed this ](*,)

I have seen this car grow from what it was when Fernando first bought it (stock SMG) to what it is now and I can honestly say it's never needed for anything. Very very well looked after and very well finished aswell.
It has a great presense on the road and pictures don't do it justice. Definitely one to be seen in the flesh.

It's worth every penny in my opinion and would be a great purchase for anyone lucky enough to buy it.

The bubbles aren't actually that bad and like it has been said above, it wouldn't take much to fix at all.

Sorry to be seeing you sell up :(

I hope this goes to a good home because it definitely deserves to have a new owner that will look after it like you have.

All the best :thumleft:
