tein springs on standard uk rev5 shocks ?

Post by alan_uk »

bit of advice guys

im wanting to lower my car not stupid low but want it to sit nice and have the arches down to the tyres on my 17"s, but at the same time dont want a bone shaker as will be my daily when its all done

was looking at tein springs on my standard rev5 shocks instead of going the coilover route anyone have these fitted and whats the drop and the ride like on them

any pics on a standard body with 17"s would be very much appreciated also

thanks

The teins are very stiff, I think youd be over sprung and under-damped on uk shocks.

If your just going for springs eibach pro lines are considered the ones to have

Thats my current one on eibachs with 16" advans

And that's my old one with same springs on 17" is200 wheels

yea it looks ok but not as low as i had hoped and if im going to have issues i think i will just go for the coilovers as i am wanting it to sit similar to my old rev5

As said- I would avoid Teins unless you are upping your damping rate significantly...it'll feel way over sprung :eye:

As above, avoid Tein springs, they're rock hard.

Teins on standard NA shocks will quickly kill your shocks - that's from experience. I'd only fit them on uprated shocks.

Are they really that hard? Looking at the spring rates on Camskill they are ~ 2.5KG/mm front, ~4.8KG/mm rear, assuming my maths is correct.

I was planning on getting some next month (maybe this month).

Tein springs lower the car a lot, which means that there is very little suspension travel left and you constantly feel the suspension bottom out on the bump stops. Mine came with them fitted and they were dreadful, I binned them off for a set of Eibach Pro springs and Bilstein dampers which completely transformed the ride, handling and grip levels.
