I do change my oil every 4 months though.

I prefer to change my oil more than keep full synthetic and keep it for a year.
I am however getting my car back after an engine forged rebuild, so unsure on a higher powered engine.

How long must I bed the engine? 1000 miles? Luke is running in the engine before giving it to me.

Everyone has their own thoughts on running in.
If new rings have been fitted they need to bed in with the freshly honed bores.
So ordinary mineral oil only- no synthetic, semi-synthetic etc.
Drive it normally, using plenty of boost but limit revs to 5000rpm.![]()
Don't cruise at same rpm and don't use engine for braking.
Then change oil for synthetic and filer aty 500 miles.
