[Mk2] [Turbo] cracked down pipe effect boost?

Post by ath16 »

Hey guys I have a rev2 turbo I am having problems with my car under boosting I have checked all my intake pipes an I have no leaks an my turbo seems fine.but I have found a cracking on my down pipe where the flange bolts to the turbo could this effect my boosting?

Also I keep getting my oil pressure light come on when my engine is up to temp as soon as I tap the throttle it goes off I have put a brand new oil pump in it an still dose it so I can only think it's the oil pressure sensor.

And help would be amazing cheers.

Cracked downpipe will play havoc with the lambda readings leading to incorrect fuelling. This is much more important than worries about boost!

For the oil pressure, try a new switch -- your guess is as good as mine.

The cracks dose run literally past the lambda an it has a brand new oil pump on it so the only thing I can think is the sensor. Cheers for the reply

The ecu only uses the lambda sensor in closed loop, under boost it doesn't make any difference.
