[Mk2] [NA] Best tyres?

Post by BALDYMONSTER »

I have falkens all round.

215/40/17 front

And 235/40/17 rear

To be fair they are getting pretty low so need replaced soon.

Any recommendations?

kumho ku31's or toyo t1r's!!
i have the Kumho's on the front, fantastic levels of grip and plenty of life, my best mod to date!
t1r's on the back, again, fantastic level of grip, have to really give it some before they let go, but life is not so good. Soft compound means in seeing signs of wear after only a few hundred miles! Still good tho!

I've got toyos on the front and nexens on the rear on standard alloys and haven't had a problem at all.

i'm a big fan of uniroyal rainsport 3's, if you can get them in your size...you cant in o.e. size :(

if not toyo t1r are a safe choice

have got nexens on rear at moment and theyre fine in dry, but only ok in wet (much better than nankangs though....they were scary!)

I'll be getting the same size tyres soon. Federal RS-R's get my vote. Highly rated everywhere and i've had previous experience on them. They are similar to R888's for a fraction of the cost.
