[Mk2] [Generic] insane steel wheels!!!

Post by Ryan S »

as many of you know (or may not) i'm putting a wide arch kit on the car, in my hunt for correct size wheels a friend sent me this link.

not sure if i could face the shame of putting steel wheels on my own car, but have a look, they come in chrome, black white etc... and are the cheapest wheels I've ever seen, they say they can do any width and offset too!! I'd need to see a set in real life I think. i also cannot find 5x114 on their site!! anyway, interesting stuff, steel wheels are as light as hell!!

IMO, they just wouldn't suit an MR2.

Go for some period wheels - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/17-DEEP-DISH- ... 1e90a09af4

Ad doesn't mention offsets, but you could ask I suppose. Not cheap, however.

I quite like them, but with such low offsets they could be trick to fit.

On a widebody they are going to be heavy boatanchors, which im sure will do wonders for the handling.

Personally if I was going to have a widebody i'd make sure I could afford some nice forged wheels with the correct offsets and widths.

The 5SP's would look good with the right colour combo.

there is a couple of sets which I do think would suit the car, most likely in white as the car has always had white wheels on it and it by far my fave colour. I might email them with my sizes, see what they can do, If nothing else it'll be a break from the usual stuff we see :)

I think dark grey / gunmetal would be a good choice too if it's the red on in your profile.

To be honest though with steels you could experiment yourself with loads of colour options, easy enough to do yourself with a bit of time and space.

Ahh, fair. I think a darker colour could still work well, though it depends on what you do with the rest of the car really!

I do like the Yellow / Black roof / black wheels look myself.

I'm pretty sure forged alloy wheels will be lighter than a steel wheel.
