respray costs?

Post by boondougal »

i know the cost will be dependent on many things but can anyone give me a ball park figure for a a mk1 with a sold base colour (e.g not metalic with a laqour)

it will need some prep but nothing serious, more flattening back, then primer then top coat.

No strip down or rebuild.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Oops... So it has.

Anywhere between 700 and 3k... And it looks like Scotland is the most economical place to have it done!

Well that's what I read anyway!

In the process of having my mk1 restored. I supplied 2 new wings, arches and outer sills. Restorer made inner sills and welded everything up. Glass out respray 2.5k + cost of new screen

In all honesty you get what you pay in the world of paint jobs. When mine was done it cost £1100 and you can tell its not perfect in a few places. I would expect top end prices to be top end results.
