Advan Neova AD08-R

Am surprised to find that AD08-R tyres do not seem to be available for wheels smaller than 15"

To be fair, 15's are pretty small these days.

Anything under that and the choice of tyres will always be diminishing.

Yes but IIRC AO48 is for use in the dry Alex

Whereas AD08-R is designed for both wet & dry weather

Maybe get some lightweight 7-7.5 15's? Then put them on, should be good. I'd roll with 195/50's.

Thanks for that Lauren

What make of wheels do you suggest ?

I don't seem to be able to find any really lightweight ones

AD08-R isn't a lightweight tyre by the way (about 7KG  )

I used A048 and A032 daily in my charade turbo for like 2 years straight. Wet, dry, warm, freezing.

In light to medium rain they were fine, heavy rain and standing water is where they fall down.

Well to be lightweight they need to be forged really. I run Volks Racing TE37s. They are forged and light. Look for second hand ones. I picked mine up for £575 for the GT in 17x8.

Mine weigh in at 7.4kg compared to the standard 17x7s weighing 9.2kg. So a fair difference. In 15's they'd be a fair bit lighter still.

http://www.wheelweights.net/ - good source for checking weights

I used to have a set of wedsports on my mk1 in both 14", then 15", but now have Volks TE37s on my mk1 (15x7 at front, 16x8 at rear).

Am going to keep an eye out for a set of those for my AE86 I think. Matching wheels on both my cars would be the way forward! ;)
