--- can a rev2 see 300bhp? ---

Post by tom89uk »

just wondering what a rev2 can see without major changes ? i know the airflow meter can restrict the higher end bhp results or is that false ?

wondering who has rev2's and what they achieved and how :)

Do a search
The rev 1 -2 have stronger blocks
You need rev3 loom sensors ecu to get rid of afm
And then rev 3 head and cams etc

I've got a rr printout of 302bhp and a vid of it hitting 298bhp on a stock rev2 engine with ct20 turbo and de-cat exhaust running 1.1 bar.

Is this accurate? Doubt it but it was still a quick car if that's what you want.

Depends on what part of the block you're talking about. Around the water pump they're the weakest and we won't touch them for race car builds.

Rev2 Block and stock Rev2 head
Cometic HG
ARP Bolts

Rev3 Fueling
Stock leads
CT20 Stock Turbo
APEXi PFC (AP engineering)
AVC-R @ 1.1-1.2bar

3 inch down pipe
TOM'S Carbon intake box
TOM'S 3" Barrell zorst system
SMIC

296BHP at the fly
315lbft torque

Mapped by Ryan @ 2BARTuning at Surrey Rolling Road

However I have my doubts on those figures since my RX7 pushed 302fwhp at EuroSpec 'The heartbreaker' and its hella quicker than the MR2

i always thought my old rev2 was around the 280-290 mark, until i got my rev 3, runs 18psi with all breathing mods on a blitz ecu, it's a completely different animal to the rev2. feels like it constantly wants to kill you!

340+ for well over a year.
487bhp peak.

Aftermarket ECU, massive turbo, big injectors, massive intercooler.

Fair few different ways to reach 300bhp.

you can get over 9000 HP for about 1.4 seconds. But in other news, search function is your friend :D
