Smartest thing to do is to surf eBay (beware of fakes) and check the for sale section on here. They come up often enough.

Yes be ware of fakes, you need to be sure that your piece of metal bar is genuine or performance could be affected .

The TRD bars look the part, but I'd be interested if they really make enough difference over stock to warrant the expenditure.

Doubt you'd be able to tell unless really pushing it on track.

Obviously without sophisticated measuring gear it's impossible to quantify but I certainly felt a difference after replacing the chocolate wrapper original with my TRD from Fensport some 5/6 yrs ago. Mind you that's on a t-bar... I'd assume the effect would be lessened (though still present) on a tin top.

The stock brace is hardly a chocolate wrapper is it? It's fixed to the car in 4 locations, and does it's job as it's supposed to.

I do think the more linear the bar and the fewer fixings it has in it, the better. Adjustable braces just mean more play in the brace meaning less rigidity.

TRD brace looks good I reckon and of course is bling. I want one really, but unless it's noticably lighter than stock, and stronger, it's pointless in actual performance. And given how light the stock brace is...

It'd be interesting maybe to test. If you could apply a surface layer to the stock brace, something like paint or plastic, and drive the car hard for a while, you could see if the paint cracked - indicating flex in the brace.

Red, the oem brace that came off mine was bendable (well, flexible) by hand hence me referring to it as made from chocolate wrappers. My particular example may have already been bent/damaged of course but just saying in my case the difference certainly was noticeable... even off the car.

I agree, off the car, they are bendable, but not on the car when it's fixed in place.

It's effectively 2 strut bars connecting the front turrets to the center of the car.

Plenty of other bits will give out on the car before there's enough of a twist to bend the strut brace when mounted. No wheels on your wagon sir
