I've got a 3rd dashboard iteration in now that I've built and flocked.

I also decided to give it its first good machine polish, I've only been using it 2 and a half years so a little overdue lol but came up well

This is one rare exception where a bgw would look excellent.

With the right BGW, mounted to the chassis (not just bolted to the lid), it would look stunning. It's awesome as is though :thumleft:

Got an itch for a change from the mr2 nothing wrong with it just fancy something else. Was looking at making a short wheel base Quattro rally car rep. Which is a huge amount of work and having to use 3 donor cars to make one seems a lot of hassle. This Tho this does tick a few boxes

Seen they have gt8

Is this just there newer version? Planing to read up about it. I notice the have a open back type engine cover which might help when working on it? Just looked again it's not suitable for an 3sgte package, they only list ls1.

Sorry been away.

They do 3 engine chassis types on two different style chassis.

GT8 has existed same time and takes the Ls engine, the GT4 chassis takes the 3sGTE- thats whats in mine.

The GT8 and GT4 differences are purely chassis, the shell / bodywork fits both. The rear is now a big clam no matter which you order, the rear opening piece was an earlier design.

So the 2nd one is on the road, A lot more work than mine body and engine and chassis...so the engine

6.2l Small Chevy Block on a porsche transaxle with Carbs and trumpet feeds, Expected BHP 550bhp+

Guess I better speed up a forged build

Bodywork....ill just say this apart from the rear vents up the top and extra side catches the bodywork started the same as mine! The guy has done a great job on the car.

Noticed you swapped the engine out for a forged version, how's it going, what's power plans etc. Still undecided on the turbo?

Have you got upgraded axles as these are able to crack going up the power. I'm sure knowledgeable folk will be able to comment.

Its going well, engine is running well. A bit of smoke after the engine has been run and is warm and has started to cool if you restart it, but when up to temperature I don't think there is any smoke at all, So i expect slightly larger tolerances then stock and importantly its not burning oil. ive done about 250miles I think with the engine in & a total of almost 6000 miles in the car now.

I'm currently running a ct20b at 1.2bar now. The next set of plans is to get a proper exhaust made, 2.5" all the way through and go back to a dual exit exhaust at the bottom of the bumper.

Following that I will be doing sealed ducting from the side air vents to the intercooler and air filter to get inlet temps as low as possible.

Then the geometry needs redoing and I can start work on my final wing design.

Depending on how I get on with all that, ill upgrade the fuel lines and pump ready for whatever I decide to do. I think a goal of 400BHP is probably what I'm going to go for.

Some pics for people who may of not seen;

Did you see the build ATS in the US have been involved with? Looks great! I think every one of these DDR kits I've seen has been notably different in some way.
