You will probably be the first to try. Personally I would ask for examples of previous builds. Ebay can be a minefield...

i purchased a recon from ebay for the same price a few years ago. It could be the same company trading under a different name but the advertisement looks exactly the same.

Anyways, 2 or 3 weeks after the 6 month gaurantee was up the head gasket blew. The engine at the time was running no mods or raised boost.

when u say ask for example? ask to contact someone who is running one? or a spec sheet for the specific built?

Dont actually need an engine mine is running well but for that price i might just buy spare and use it as a coffee table until its needed :mrgreen:

STAY WELL CLEAR

Plenty of threads on here about these monkeys, selling cr@ppy engines spray painted to look like they've been reconditioned, with no evidence of any work done to them at all.

Don't even think about giving them any money =;

Two of my favorite quotes :shock:

"My HG went after a year and when ZEN opened it up, the heads were held on with dowels and twine!!!!!!! (ZEN couldn't believe how it lasted even a year!) "

" when he had the car back at the garage to get new headgaskets fitted the old ones looked like cardboard sprayed black and the cylinder rings (unsure of the proper name) paint in silver paint badly i hasten to add "

Steer well clear of these :clown:s.

No apology necessary, I feel exactly the same about some low life genital wart stealing our hard earned cash.

I think this is one of the benefits of forums like this, so we all know who to avoid. Anyways, off now to cut some holes in cardboard :D

this Daniel character was a right wee douche!! If you did find yourself in that situation you would just put your hands up and say sorry, not that it would help anyone, hopefully they go bust now.

he has the cheek to say "thanks for wasting my time" how many peoples time and money has he wasted over the years?? incredible behaviour!! I hope he has a nice weekend, maybe somebody will break his jaw when he's out on the p1$$.
