I'm leaving for London tomorrow. We are not on the ferry till Monday 7.30am. We hope to be in Bruges for lunch. :)

Sounds like you are having an even longer break than us! Where are you heading?

Yay.

Yes, thought we'd spend an afternoon in Urk on the way over to you Erik. :)

We are going over the closure dyke (that 32km long dyke) at the top end of the Netherlands when we drive over to you from Zandvoort. We just fancied the scenic route. :)

Can't wait. Will send you a text when we are getting closer.

Iv found myself getting quite worried about this trip in the last few days....

Is my car going to fall to bits? Is the body work going to rip off on ferries? Am I going to get on a round about the wrong way round?

Not really got in positive frame of mind yet, sure il be fine when I get there.

Anybody else having the same issue?

Daft thing is that if i took my 120k mile Accord I would just jump in and go without a second thought?!

Out of interest how many people are actually going in MR2s??

Yup, Toni is dedicated. And she has an enviable toy budget too

I think it's just the three of us in MR2s - there will be many more one we get there, though :thumleft:

Si, I'm already in Europe driving a 27 year old car with no breakdown cover. Is the the first time you've taken your own car to The mainland?

Don't worry about driving on the right side of the road it really is no issue once you get used to it.

And, stop worrying you will be fine!

Si, last year I took my 1988 MR2 that had been in restoration for six months, had an MOT pass for only 2 weeks before and over 220,000 miles ont he clock and went over without a second thought.

This a car that has also been lowered, on rigid KYB shocks etc. Made it there fine and back.

Provided you got breakdown cover, don't stress it, give the car a going over, check oil, coolant etc and then just go for it.
I am going to live forever, or die trying!

Thanks guys and gals! :D

Iv never taken my own car onto the continent before but have driven hire cars in europe and USA (and that was a Viper  ) but its just the worry of my 2. Suppose its because I dont drive her very often that i become unfamiliar with the various rattles and creaks.

OK, hopefully I will stop panicking. I'm getting tracking and balancing done today

And it sailed through an MOT a week ago.....

And was serviced last month......

And the gearbox was rebuilt 9 months ago......

And the engine was rebuilt 18 months ago......

Thats it. I'l stop bothering now

:-# =; :D
