not brought it yet but on the look out and going to see a few. Some really good bargins out there and lots of threads on here to help me find the right one. Great news is that the mark 1 isn't going anywhere! I will have both :)

As I see it, the problem with the Mk 3 is that I couldn't even take the girlfriend away for the weekend in one

My Mk1 has two boots. The Mk3 only has a couple of silly little spaces behind the seats

No wonder they were doomed :)

Been camping a few times, tent and 2 sleeping bags in the front and loads of room behind the seats for clothes etc
I dont think you can call them "a couple of silly little spaces"

Thanks for putting me right re that :)

Nice looking purpose made luggage too it seems

I was shocked to find that the car had no boot & may have misjudged the space available. It looks rather different with the bags in place

Perhaps you understand what I meant though ?

Peter

PS you havn't seen how much stuff my girlfriend takes with her

... and you've also got the spare tyre well. Its made for a full size tyre but only holds a space-saver so quite a bit of room there. Take that out, or tip it upside down and the space increases again.

Finally if your GF really must take all those shoes, you can invest in a boot rack 8)

I'm also currently tempted by a mk3. Had a sit in Toni's racer not long ago and the mk3 is calling. The idea of working on a car with no rust appeals.

I think that is a really good call. It was the main reason for choosing mine; wind in the hair motoring, the other reason, rendering it possible to enjoy the benefits of mid-engine rwd fun, on an everyday basis. :)

The problem is I reckon I'd have it about 10 minutes before I starting fiddling with it. And then it would be a short step to turning it into a new race car.

Its spreading, i've started to look at an MR-S aswell, there's one for sale at a local toyota dealer i'm hoping to go view at the weekend if its still for sale. Its a little over priced but has 12 month warranty.

Had the mk1 for 7 years now and its starting to show its age, the front archs need doing, its more pink these days and the windscreen needs replacing. Would be nice to have a newer car for my everyday driving. I've been trying to get the financee to get an MR-S for ages but she's not a fan so think i'll just get one myself.
