[Mk2] [Turbo] Most READILY available quietest exhaust for a MK2 Turbo

Post by craig »

Just wondering really, I am aware of the quiet Jap exhausts such as Legalis R, Silent HKS Hi-power, HKS Turbo and Apexi Supermegaphone. BUT, these are rare as hens teeth to find.

With the above, in mind, which is the quietest readily available exhaust for a mk2 turbo? Mongoose, yeah, but from what I recall, they ain't exactly quiet.

Input/views?

Many thanks.

Standard. Still available from Toyota.

Not necessarily Desirable but available :oldtongue:

I used to have loads of hens teeth, but my Mongoose rattled them all out......

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

It was ages ago I had a mongoose. Can't really remember how loud it was. Same/quieter than a Japspeed?

I can't really compare to be honest having not heard any others. If other exhausts are louder than the mongoose (which I'm pretty sure they are), I don't know how people can bare them - or maybe I'm just getting old.....

Expensive- yes, but rare? A quick google suggests they are relatively easy to get hold of in the UK...

Yeah, I'm nearly 30 and I used to love loud exhausts. Now, I'd just prefer something that sounds standard, but looks nice.

I don't mind it being loud when I'm booting it, it the low reverberating and the drone on the motorway's that (literally) does my head in. :shaking2: (managed to use that emoticon twice today :D)

Exactly the same, I had a HKS Turbo exhaust at one point. Sounded standard.......on boost, well that's a different story

Don't forget that it sounds great when booting it (always need to find the positives, never know when you might want to sell it  )

It also flows really well - I had 2 foot flames from mine when I was taking it round Mallory (apparently)

I loved the Dep2 with decat, was fine on a motor way, lovely when booting it.

Not easy to find though.
