[Mk2] [Turbo] dreaded MOT tein related

well had my mot today looking for a bit of advise

my teins flex coilovers has side to side play on drivers side rear.

spoke to a few dealers there only interested in selling me a new set.

whats the best thing do can it be done as a diy job is it just a matter of tightening a nut or is it a rebuild job?

any help would be great as im a bit stuck

could it possibly be just a loose / worn topmount?

no he showed me its the base of the strut where the play is where it wobbles slightly.

tein are willing deal with me direct on a rebuild so thats a bonus i guess not going like the bill though i think

price the rebuild up with what it will cost for a full set, you dont want to rebuild one then a few months later the other goes

have you tried Ohlins?

gaz suspension, do rebuilds on any strut as teins arnt just filled with oil,they are filled with some sort of gas too
