Post by neilgam1 »

Hi exhaust wheel broke off my old ct26, have been looking for a good 2nd hand 1but cant find a good 1, have also been pricing a rebuild. Seen this 1on ebay which would cost £325 delivered so contacted the seller, he said it will fit straight on, any1 bought anything like this, or know where to get a good 1 or rebuild?

avoid like the plague mate...get the oem one or a ct20 mate...unless you have deep pockets and then the worlds your oyster...remeber that if you have a standard rev 2, and have no interest in tuning for more power, you'ld be better off with another ct26

I would go CT20 if taking the CT26 off

a ct20 can be had for about 200 - 250 for a good one, its a good upgrade from the 26, boost to the redline, slightly more power, and makes a damn awesome noise behind your head!

Don't be taken in by the advert, there's no oil feed or return, no downpipe flange or gaskets, a waste of money. For what you have stick to OE or 20b.

CT26's are around £50 for a good one.

CT20b's are in the £150+ bracket for a good one.

Your ecu is programed to limit the revs at around 6500...so as your engine doesn't pop, the ct26 runs out of usefull boost at about 5800 and then just blows hot air. If you install a ct20 your rev limiter will cut it's boostable goodness before it's fully unloaded, you can install a rev de-limiter quite easily for not much money but I'm not entirely sure that your standard ecu is up to the job...
