Just been to view this car - EDIT just bought it!

Post by sam1176uk »

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2001-Toyota-MR-S- ... mobiles_UK

What are your thoughts on the upgrades as i'd be moving from a Rev 4 Mk2 to this, I literally have no idea what it's worth??
Was advertised at 4.5k "buy it now" with a 4k reserve, but highest bid was 2.3k.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated...

Did you start the engine and do a drive? Any smoke?
Have the precats been left in?

Pertinent questions - oh and I think £4K is a bit rich with no hardtop.

No smoke and the car drives well, he said there are no pre cats because of the new manifold etc which has been fitted?

well that's good, but price is still a little rich for age/mileage and spec I think.

I suppose if you have a choice I would avoid an MRS because the jap engine codes cannot be easily read. In general the cars are the same but if you get any engine errors its realy handy to be able to read and clear them.

Cool its an awesome car and you will be the envy of everyone in their tin cans in the summer when you throw the roof down and just catch some rays.

Its the bracing that makes it like that, I see you have plenty.

Is mobil 1 gearbox oil? or does it come in variations? I used mt90 I think.

Looks to have been well cared for and lavished upon, a good buy from an enthusiast.

Nice one.

Yea they do a mobil 1 gearbox oil as well :thumleft:

Dastek powerplug
AEM v1 long arm induction kit
PPE Engineering racing Exhaust manifold, downpipe and backbox
ngk iridium spark plugs

D2 Fully adjustable coilovers (with camber adjustment)
TRD Front and Rear Strut Braces
TRD member brace kit
Whiteline adjustable anti-roll bars (front and rear)

Tarox Racing disks
Mintex racing pads
goodridge hoses
brake fluid recently replaced

Rota subzero lightweight wheels
ultralight wheel nuts

No major plans to upgrade further but it always starts like that i suppose, going to clay bar/polish etc in a week or so.
Painted the calipers today, may look to change the steering wheel for a smaller one to make room for my legs!!
May change the wheels at some point as well, see what comes up.
