it doesn't really matter afaik. its a convenience option depending on where you wish to run your WG exit pipe. I would prefer a Top mounted WG as it makes it easier to access and looks pretty.

how much are you paying for it? You really should consider a Garrett GT series turbo from them really, the technology is newer and the turbo is ultimately better!

£1370 for td06 and £1550 for garret gt3071 postage included, little worried about the gt3071 because i dont have forged engine .

I would pay the extra for the 3071r

Your not going to kill your engine just by fitting it. Its all down to the mapping at the end of the day. A poor map could kill a forged engine on a CT20b if the map was out that much!!

i think the hightest BHP for stock internals is around 450-475 fwbhp now, which is the upper end of a 3071r.

Tbh i dont know much about the Td06 turbo, but what i do know is they are dated compared to the Garrett GT range. if the 3071r is the equilivant, then im prob safe in saying that you could prob run the 3071r at a lower boost pressure and still get the same torque/bhp and faster spool over the td06.

Also, remember, a forged engine technically ,at its cheapest option, is just a set of pistons, a re-bore if required, hone and gasket set!

Yes. its a Garret GT3071r You will need to decide which exhaust housing 'A/R'you want.. Smaller gives spool over top end power and bigger gives more top end over spool... but being as the 3071r is not that big a turbo anyway, i would prob go for a larger housing.

Hi Liam

If you are going to go down the TD06 route, have a look at these guys http://www.mvpmotorsports.com/merchant/mr2.shtml# just about the cheepest Greddy Kit I have ever seen :thumleft:

Hi

The MVP Td06 are internally gated. These units tend to boost creep really badly. That's why the ATs kits have been converted to run a external wastegate to eliminate the boost creep problem.

I have a ATS TD06 on my rev 3. Cracking turbo, but many regard the Gt3071 as better. I only went for the TD06 as i got it for a good price 2nd hand.

Just off the 0.8 bar actuator spring the TD06 makes 300 fwbhp @ SRR.
1.0 bar is around 350 fwbhp.

I am not sure how those numbers fair against a Gt3071 ?

his name most probably has been hidden to prevent you from purchasing from him. many users might have had trouble in the past with this seller?

Give ats a call and ask about AR options and what they recomend. I say ring them as they can take a while to reply to emails.. PM on mr2oc is usually better.

I don't think it is blocked due to poor customer service, never heard a bad review in that respect. I've got one of his GT3076 kits on my car, seems to work well.
