Throttle body has engine coolant running through it to stop throttle freeze on cold startups. That's there to warm it up... wouldn't be warm until the rest of the coolant system is. Nowt else in the inlet manifold though.

People are a bit 50/50 on that. It's there for a good reason, but the people who do disconnect it have never had any problems...

hiya mate sounds to me that the air temp sensor could be faulty if ur getting high intake temps

2 pipes that go around under the distributor and round the back of the engine hook, then run along the head into the bottom of the throttle body. You can just link them together.

Pretty much slap bang in the middle of this diagram:

16267 IIRC.

If the cars not running and the gauge is rising ,doesnt that point to a faulty electrical connection in the gauge ?

I'm also interested in the outcome of dissconnecting the 2 coolant hoses to the throttle body, please update your thread, I want to know if you run into any problems :thumleft: !

ive disconnected (looped round) those lines

makes taking the TB off alot easier not having to worry about spilling coolent everytime you want to remove the TB completely also.

no problems i can report.

well its seems to be going to plan
2 tb pipes looped, that has took about 5c off .i have also made the water inlet to the cc the pipe at the rear of it .
while the tb was off i reset the tipe of my probe so it is in the middle of plem. chamber as i think it was heat soaking #-o (it was only 12mm away from the ally )
now for the figures...... 1st 2nd etc .127c coming out of turbo and 45c inlet manifold temp , out side temp was 14c
i know the inlet temp. not to good but i was a bit of a shock when i noticed the out let temp of the ct20
to sum it up the off boost is 23c ish on boost 45c with a recovery time of just under 2 mins
any thoughts on these would be good :thumleft:
