Depends how far you want to go really. Has it got gas in it? It's illegal to release refrigerant into the atmosphere.

Once it's de-gassed you can just start ripping pipework out. Where you stop is up to you really!! Obviously compressor end you've got the tensioner and the compressor, pipework then comes off that and runs under the car with the coolant pipes. Once the single wire that connects to the compressor is disconnected your aircon will no longer work, that's it disabled. You've then got the condensor radiator at the front, and a tank type thing that I forget the name of in the passengerside wheel arch. After that there's some pipework in the frunk where the pressure sensor, H and L valves etc are. Then it gets complicated as you get into all the gubbins behind the glovebox, which if I were you I'd leave alone.

You will find the when you ripped it out the fans will run all the time. Yoou need to bridge a connector by the passenger front bulkhead to stop them.

When we remove a/c we leave the rad sensor and the pressure sensor in the pipe next to the refill ports.

Never had a problem with the fan control.
