has anybody tried ebay bush kit and did you like it? I've heard the brass replacement kits can fall apart quite quickly

word of warning on these "upgrades" i found it very difficult to engage first gear with the brass bushes fitted. bought mine from gtschris.

i tried rotating / flipping them allsorts still had to force first gear in.
i ended up re-fitting the stock bushes i took out.

i was thinking of enquiring at toyota main dealer for a price on a new set of stock bushes this i think is the way forward :thumleft:

anyone got a toyota part No?

or you can buy bearingd that are applicable to kids scooter wheels for peanuts and they seem to work fine...jayzer is occasionally putting them up for sale for £2.50 posted...you just need to put a couple of spacer washers either side of the new bearing to bring the dimensions up to the standard bush...for a nice tight fit.
I have fit a couple of set of these on my car and others, and they seem to work fine.

They are just generic skateboard bearings. The cheapest off ebay will work just fine. Only one of the rubber bushings wears out (the forward/backward link). Best to leave the other one in (the side to side)

BTW Toyota do not sell the rubber bushings by themselves - They will only supply complete gear cable cables (Very expensive).

I got a 4 sets up for grabs £2.50/set posted

All you need to get is:-

a. 4 Washers (OD30mm ID i think 5mm but just follow the bearing ID hole size)-Basically Mad guard washers you get on cars will be fine :thumleft:

b. 4 Washers (OD15mm ID i think 5mm but just follow the bearing ID hole size)
