[Mk2] [Turbo] How to change spark plugs w/ TRC equiped 3SGTE?

Post by SpecR0 »

Im changing spark plugs soon on my 3S but my car is TRC equipped and I need to disconnect the TRC unit in order to gain access to the plugs. Is there a walk through or something for removing the TRC unit?

It looks pretty basic, sorta like removing the TB, but I wanna make sure Im not gonna remove/touch anything thats not supposed to handled a specific way (Sorta of like how you're never suppose to unscrew the AFM screws).

Help Pls.

As you say its not too hard i've not done it recently but from memory; take off the hardpipe going from the IC to the TRC TB, unplug the electrical connectors on the TRC TB, undo the 4 bolts that hold the TRC TB on (They're surprisingly long!) and it should tilt forward, to get it all the way off you need to unplug the coolant lines that pass through it.

One of the reasons i use iridium plugs that are good for 60k miles.. i wouldnt want to do all that with every oil change :-)
