im no expert but why not mask off the design u want and use matt paint on it. if that makes sense.
Re: vinyl photoshop (pic inside)
Piece of cake! All I need is a roll of black, bingo.
Re: vinyl photoshop (pic inside)
that liquid art does look very impressive just not sure if it would look as good in such bulk
deffo dont want it sprayed, im really fussy and if it was anything less than perfect it would really bug me
ive had a price of about 60quid for it, the only reason i havent done it is that it isnt in 1 single piece

Re: vinyl photoshop (pic inside)
then you would need a wrap....this then be comes a lot more expensive....but you can get massive results from it
Ps...any one seen that car before

Re: vinyl photoshop (pic inside)
If he just wants his bonnet doing in vinyl he won't need a wraparound, just some wide vinyl.
If you can measure your bonnet at its widest point (between the two corners by the wiper panel), see what that makes. I've got a roll, just don't know if it's wide enough. Also I think you want a matt-ish effect, not sure if my wife's supplier does that, if they do then "simples"

Re: vinyl photoshop (pic inside)
Just re-read your original post, saw you wanted a satin type look. All I have is a roll of gloss black, or aluminium style, or white which is a bit boring.
Anyway have a look at the sizes and will see if I can load up photoshop and have a go at some cutouts.

Had a spare 15 mins so had a pop at this.
Made the design in illustrator.
Ran it to vinyl, cut out and done.
The cut-out, without carrier sheet (other guy does that tomorrow)
The donor car - would look better in red, so you get the Jap flag effect.
Trying it in position - unfortunately loaded the wrong width so its about an inch short at the top
I'll put it on tomorrow when the carrier sheet's been put on. Won't be on for long, and if its raining it won't be happening.

Re: vinyl photoshop (pic inside)
that is exactly what im after mate, you are the man
is the sticker the very white parts? basically the negative of the sun.
im after the sun to be the vinyl, in a satin finish pref or maybe a dark grey
would you be able to do me some vinyl, paid for obviously?

Re: vinyl photoshop (pic inside)
Yeah the red car (or blue in my case) would be the sun, white would be rays.
In your case I would just remove the opposite parts on the vinyl before I put the carrier sheet over it. Plus I'd need black vinyl maybe satin or matt effect?
Can't trade as I'm not an affiliate (yet) and I haven't got the design accurate enough to be happy with - see tomorrow when I put it on how far it is off or if its good.

Re: vinyl photoshop (pic inside)
ok yeah will be good to see inky then we can go from there
Re: vinyl photoshop (pic inside)
i do like that....but think it would look better if the sun is a bit bigger
My personal oppinion of course

Re: vinyl photoshop (pic inside)
Don't forget when it's in place, it'll be halfway (roughly) between the headlamp lid and the bonnet edge at the top, so going any bigger might look wrong.
It's all trial and error so far, see what tomorrow brings
