Products for flushing coolant System

Products for flushing coolant System
I will be flushing the system this month, as it obviously hasnt been done for a while, just wonderd what the best product would be and what to avoid and any tips, cheers

Flushing it with a hosepipe ought to do the job.

I use a hose pipe.

I have used a product
(name escapes me) from Halfrauds before but I dont think it did anything that a few flushes with water didn't.
.
Mk1s often take a lot of flushing to get the system cleaned out.

the reason i ask is because the coolant is orange with rust, i shall have a look in halfords tomorrow, i need something a bit more heavy duty than water

i just thought the internals will be pretty bunged up with rust and limescale possibly, i want it all to be running as efficently as possible

give it a go let us know on the results

Dishwasher tablet, pop one in a bucket of warm water, crumble up till it dissolves.
Drain your coolant, Pop the soapy water in, then run the engine up to temp.
Drain and flush through with the hose, then re-fill and bleed


I did my Mk1 the other night, it
was amazing all the orange rusty crap that came out!
