PMs not being sent, GRRRR!

I find that 50% of the time, PMs that I send just sit in the outbox going nowhere. It's very annoying.
Is it a manual task to read and approve all "private" messages? That sounds crazy.
Or is it a bug in the site, do i just need to keep resending?

If they are in the Outbox then it means that the recipient hasn't read the pm. Once it has been read, it gets moved to your sent items.

They sit in the outbox until the person you've sent it to reads it - so what's really happening is that you are being ignored by 50% of the people you want to talk to.
