TRD heavy duty suspension top mounts

Post by James_Ward »

Hi everyone, does anyone know anywhere other than Fensport where you can pick up TRD heavy duty top mounts for a Mk1a?

Bought a vehicle set from Fensport a few months back but the rear pair were on back order, had a credit note through the other day apparently they've been discontinued :( would just reuse the old ones but they're pretty knackered.

Thanks all,

Jim

TTE. have a look on their website and enquire about TRD parts, they can still get hold of most of them, except for the discontinued stuff. means buying from Germany, but its still cheaper than Fensport

The treatment / finish on the metal part of the TRD mounts is very poor, my previous set rusted within a year. The rust is only light, but annoying given the price and age. Worth painting the metal bits with Hammerite or similar before fitting....

Yeah I noticed on the fronts the paint had been applied over the grease for the bearing in the middle.....

Yes, the paint on the metal work was really not very thick at all. I gave mine a coating of POR-15 I had left over in a small tin, after cleaning all the grease off first...
