MRTWO

Post by MRTWO »

well I've been here for a couple of months and its time I posted a couple of pics

I started with MR2's when the mk1 first came to Australia in 1987 in the mk1b guise. I was lucky to get one of the first 10 sold and even luckier to get the Victorian number plate MRTWO as first issue. I owned that for 2 1/2 years before my wife got pregnant (somehow!) and in her 7th month could no longer get in and out of the car and so had to sell it for something more sensible (a Saab 9000!)

Now, the kids have grown and its my turn again and so have a 1987 mk1b with 60,000 very well documented miles and in every way, just like my original.
btw, I'm only the second owner!

here's a couple of pics taken today

thanks :D

that is a sad story of naievity and neccessity in that I sold the number plate with the car when I part exchanged for the saab. In those days number plates were not thought of as investments and so it seemed natural to sell the number with the car... if only I could see the future...

I've tried to track the number plate through the mk1 club in oz this year but so far no successful reply :(

thanks! I think I was very lucky to find this one with fairly low miles and full service and MOT history. But I'm realistic and I know it'll need some effort to keep it like this. Fortunately its always garaged now so that will help.

the engine bay needs a bit of cleaning up and I started on that this weekend with an hour I had spare, so I'll add a pic of that when its done though I suspect it will need a fair few more hours yet...
