[Mk2] [Generic] Gearbox question

Post by lehem »

If a Mk2 NA had been converted to Turbo, would it have had a Tubby gearbox?

If not, how can i tell which gearbox i have?

might be easy to just compare in-gear speeds. The turbo box has shorter ratios. 4000rpm is pretty much bang on 90mph in my tubby.

I think its the norm to change the gearbox with the engine but you never know. I think 70mpg is about 3200 revs.
