pictures of my new super edition RECARO seats and door cards

Post by autobody »

Sorry for the poor images but the sun was too bright. Also the car needs a good clean but just wanted to show off the seats and mirrored t-bars ..

The seats do feel better when driving and does provide support round corners which I love, and the bottom is adjustable which makes them even better..

Wow those seats and door cards look superb! How does the head room like compared to stock, do you have any more or less? Also how did you mount them, did you need to make customer brackets?

These are genuine mr2 mk1 super edition seats, I think they only came in the super edition. And they are a direct replacement so just screw the 4 bolts in and off you go.

Am not sure if there is any more or less room, it feels the same but of course your shoulders and legs are more supported by the seat..

am sure there are other cars which have these seats in but they will need work to make them fit, e.g. weld brackets ....

These seats werent only used in the SC SE - fact. Infact, I think they were also used in a 6 seater? I cant remember which though, sure Lauren will confirm tomorrow.

No i have not get a SC SE steering wheel, and i dont think i would find one as they are even more rare. do you have a picture of one.

i did not say the glass was from a SC SE, i had a look on a few mk1 sites and it stated the reflective glass was used on the superchargers.

What is this "super" edition then? Is it just the interior trim that differs? I've not heard of it before but I do like the look of those seats, much more sporty than the usual.

Gold trim including
- gold stripes down the sides, along front and rear bumpers and across the rear of the spoiler
- gold painted T-top release levers

Incedently there is a 2 tone white over gold SE for sale at the moment.

For the info:

http://mr2.net/f227ovu_images.html

(Mark's website).

Note that the Momo wheels are not original, hence why later pictures show the correct diamond polished teardrops.

To add to the list as far as we can tell all seem to have an LSD (going on a sample of the 5 known ones in the UK).

The recaros are pretty good, though the intergra's are much better.. But they of course a good improvement over the poor standard seats which lack support.

Really the Super Edition is an end of run special of the mk1. IIRC there were 270 produced and only sold in japan. Most seem to be midnight blue (we thought this the only colour) but we have seen evidence to suggest that the white over gold colour scheme was also an option.

Really they are the MK1 MR2 with every conceivable possible extra included... so LSDs, brakelight in spoiler etc.. plus the addition of the sporty interior.

Our Sc is a G-Limited version. It does not have the silvered T-Bar panels, but the original copper toned ones.
IIRC, the silvered panel were an option, not a standard. But then the original Japanese owner could have sold the silvered panels in favour of others... :?

Didn't one of the SE owners run a UK owners list or UK SE register or something like that?
