[Mk2] [Generic] Side Repeater Options

Post by splintermcinnes »

Where can you get different side repeater that sit in the stip by the front bumper?

These ones: -

can i just replace it with a solid strip and it still be legel, or will i then need wing mount side repeaters? Idealy just a clear set of the ones i have at the minute would be fine!

I have a set of clear indicators/side lights, just need the side repeaters to match!

I was under the impression you had to have a side repeater behind the front wheel in the UK, but could well be wrong

Being an import, mine has never had one behind the wheel. only by the bumper, its been in the uk since 98 and never been metioned come test time! they are right next to the fron indicators, if i can get away with it i would rather replace them with a solid pannel.

All i know about the law is that you have to have side repeaters. Poblem is i don't know where :s

If you look at all the uk mr2's they should give you a clue (my 1991 n/a had them behind the wheels) So does my 1990 turbo maybe look at a 1995

I have no side repeaters and a solid strip :thumleft:

Just payd up to get a clear set of tobleones, mine are flat at the minute, i think the tobes (the clear ones anyway) are pretty cool!

im adding these and a clear set of front indicators with an inlay of Superwhite LEDs to give it an audi style look. but with the leds along the top and inner edge, then having them wired into the side lights, should look sweet as when done. will add it to my profile when done!

I can't remember the exact details but I posted about it a week or two ago. The MOT regs state something like you have to be able to see the repeater when stood 1 metre off to the side of the car (when looking from the rear obviously).
