[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev1 turbo - brakes - cheap or expensive

Post by chase303 »

Hi everyone,

This may have already been discussed, but I would like a few opinions.
Are cheap brake setups as good as more expensive ones?

Is it worth going for expensive, drilled grooved discs, and expensive pads?
Do they last longer?
Or just perform better?

Or go with cheap (about half the price) discs and pads.

I'm not planning track days (yet) and won't be doing that many miles.

Any advice / experiences / recommendations / links welcomed.

cheers

If you're still on rev1 brakes why not just upgrage to the later rev (and bigger) brakes. Should pick up a set 2nd hand for £250 ish, calipers, discs and pads etc. If it's affordable get braided lines also (£80-100). Vast improvement over rev1 set up!
