I can't make the 26th as my car won't be up to spec by then but if you organize another one I'd like to go, plus it's for a great cause! I have had a lot of people dubious of my car putting out standard bhp and it'd be nice to have some proof ;)

Anyone know what the story is with this? Only 8 confirmed on the list with a week and a half to go. Can we still go if we don't have 10?

draz1k, you organized this but haven't posted in the thread for a while, can you confirm if this event is still on? I'm happy to try and pull this together if you're not interested anymore.

draz1k kindly gave up his spot ages ago so I guess he doesn't want to jump back in, plus the fact that it is a free day would suggest it doesn't matter if we don't get 10, I'm sure that's a limit rather than a minimum.

I'm sure we can fill the 10 slots before next weekend, I've gone and blown the turbo to manifold gasket but that's getting sorted this week so I'll be there still.

I'd say go for it mate, be good to know what time it's all kicking off? perhaps give TDI a phonecall to find out how they want to roll?

Right... being the busy bee I am, I have given TDI a call to get the low down...

I hope I'm not treading on Draz1k's (James) toes, but we haven't heard from him about this in a while....

The list of 8 below, is FINAL:

1. antstarr
2. Jim Gts
3. mattcambs
4. Moo
5. Paul @ Kent Car Craft
6. MikeJC
7. AdDaMan
8. Blue_5

TDI is usually open a half-day or closed on a Saturday, these guys are giving this up to allow us to use the RR, so they are asking for 8 definites and around 4 reserves as they usually manage to get 8-12 done depending on how the day goes.

The day WILL START at 9am, so they have asked that someone is there ready to go for 9am sharp. They will break for lunch at 1.30pm for half an hour and the day WILL END at 5pm. Don't forget they are doing this for free, all they are asking is that everyone makes a contribution to Great Ormond Street Hospital, no matter how small or large, although I feel £20 is not unreasonable. Donate online here http://www.gosh.org/cgi-bin/gosh/ff2-reg.pl?r=12&sr=55

Now for those that are unaware (as I was!) TDI use a Roto-test dyno (hub dyno) which is not the traditional drive on rolling road. It is far more accurate I'm told, but requires the removal of the rear wheels, so PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING LOCKING WHEELNUT KEYS etc.

Also, any cars suffering any transmission/clutch/drivetrain issues will not be running! All cars that run must be in good health to the best of your knowledge, as if any cars let go and blow oil/fluids everywhere, the day will end there and then! Please check you fluid levels before you go!

TDI will be putting on doughnuts/tea/coffee all day so we will be looked after, also Ikea/Lakeside etc is just around the corner for restaurants, shopping etc.

TDIs website with contact details can be found here: http://www.tdi-plc.com/

So, we need confirmation from EVERYONE on the list that they are attending and comply with the above. I will PM everyone on the list tonight to ensure they know about it. I think it will be fair to say anyone who has not confirmed by end of Sunday 20th, may forfeit their place, as the last thing we want is only 5 or 6 cars turning up and wasting the day!

Can you also please confirm on here what time you will be arriving as we MUST have at least one car there for 9am out of courtesy.

So, I am confirming my attendance and I will be there around 10.30am

Cheers :thumleft:

Im moving next Thursday, so might not be down there for long but really want to get my '2 dynoed, as ive just got all its problems sorted and would love to see if its making standard bhp. I dont mind turning up at 9am as it will give me some time on Saturday to carry on with unpacking/decorating/swearing/breaking ornaments/losing stuff and then finding it 3 weeks later after ive bought a new one that usually goes hand in hand with me moving.

I'm not going myself but for those who have never been to TDi before, here's a video of my car there a couple of years ago. Check out the cooling fans

They are all great guys and I'm sure you'll have a blast. You could eat your food off of the floor in the workshop

LOL!

So Blue, can we agree that you'll be there for 9am? The guys will be there from 8.30am so if you turned up 5-10 minutes early that would be great, keep them sweet!

I've PM'd everyone else on the list for confirmation.

If there is anyone who is not on the list and who would like to come and definately can come, please put your name down as I'm sure there will be some spaces, we should even be able to squeeze in a couple of extras.

Sorry not not having replied. Have been in Scotland for a few days climbing mountains, as you do, and was going to give TDI a call upon my return.

Nice one Paul for giving them a call and finalising the details :thumleft: I'm definitely going and will arriving at around 10am.

Is it ok to pay cash to somebody on the day for the donation or does it have to be done via the link?

Ok, well the list is getting smaller!

1. antstarr
2. Jim Gts
3. mattcambs - confirmed 10am
4. Moo - confirmed 10am
5. Paul @ Kent Car Craft - confirmed 10.30am
6. MikeJC
7. Blue_5 - confirmed 9am

The donation doesn't have to be done via the website, just though it would be easier for everyone! Just re-read through this thread and you can pay on the day if you like.

I'm going to PM everyone who expressed an interest in this thread to try and get the numbers up. Christ!.... you can't even give this stuff away!

Of the unconfirmed guys (or maybe one of the 10 o'clockers) can I ask that someone get's there to bridge the 9am/10am slot? So say around 9.30am, just so they are not standing around waiting when they have opened just for us!

I'd get there earlier but I have to wait for Owen to get to mine from Ramsgate
