Lauren - i'd really like to book for this with there not being many places left and hope that i have a car sorted in time (could always take the lotus but think i would end up getting a taxi home :? ), but what if i have no car when the time comes? would i be able to give/sell my place to someone else?
cheers
Jay

LimeyMk1 and others,

The pub in Dunnington is excellent for food but you need to book. Closer to the time I will post and see how many want to meet for an evening meal and book a table.

Another thing about Elvington for spectators, friends etc: The Yorkshire Air Museum is on the same site. It's great! It's really laid back and low key. It's only £5 to get in. And if you don't want burgers for lunch they've got a restaurant.

The only thing that spoils it is those damn cars making a racket!

Hi Jay,

Well if you know you are not going to make it, let me know and i can contact Jonny and you can use the money for another day ie 'Batcredit'. Or you could sell the place, but this will only work if its full.

Your best option is to let me know asap if you can't make it, that way we can transfer your place to credit.

Lotarse would be fine i guess but isn't it an excel or something like that? In which case i see your point. ;)

There's 14 mk1's woohoo! Should be a good one.

Bodykit fitting and priming this week... should be enough time to get the car well run in on the road before the event!

UPDATEAGE

I've been chatting with Jonny about the day and we have decided that we should be able to run a few more cars due to the layout being a bit longer than it used to be (as a result of 100 new cones).

We are also looking at ways in which we could possibly extend the layout to accomodate yet more cars.

the result is that there are still some places left as we are at the moment going to allow 45 cars (rather than the regular 39).

This may or may not increase further pending our findings when we are next there on the 2nd July as we will experiment a bit and try to put a new section in. All being well we may be able to go up to 55 cars or so.

Lauren,

Are you or Jonny or Sarah aware that it now says full, but there are only 42 cars booked (unless I can't count). Surely there should be three more places left?

This trackday should be great :D

I'm going to get some big mirrors fitted so that I can see Jonno and Megatron catching me!

(Jonno, don't forget you promised me a passenger ride)

And I'm staking my claim for the first of the hot laps with Lauren.

Who's staying overnight? Anyone want to meet up at the Windmill in Dunnington for an evening meal?

Thanks for pointing that out Tom.

I'll ask Jonny if we can take a few more places, though i'm concerned that i don't want to overbook the day until we can be sure that we can extend the track which we ought to know on 2nd July.

Indeed. Should be good.

I wouldn't say anything definite about the 1.5 yet.. as its unproven at the moment.. though going by Deno's car in the US (seen the footage from the NA2005 event?), it should be nippy. Also, I'm mainly used to power sliding a mk1 Escort around, and I'm still to actually drive a mk1 MR2 of any form!!! So anything could happen!

Well I think you *might* have enough power to unstick the rear end in the Mk1.5 :D

Any chance I could book a couple of laps as a passenger?
