Each to their own.. why do you bother with IMOC at all then if you think it's contributing to wasting minutes of your life?

Ok let me ask you this, your a paid up member and you've obviously read through this thread, has it benefitted you in anyway?

IMOC is meant to be a place of information about all aspects both mechanical and body of the MR2. Is this thread useful or informative? Blunt answer is no.

Granted we have the off topic section for general non mr2 items, but this is in the "Members Profile", has no real content regarding 'pinkpleasures' profile other than his imaginary girlfriend..... Now if I wanted to read through trash of this nature I would go along to barryboys or some other equivalent site.

Getting back to the question... "why do you bother with IMOC?"... Good point, with thread standards of this nature why would anyone bother? Well personally I remember how good the people/site used to be 5+ years ago so thats why I still remain a member, granted im just awaiting the sale of my turbo then I will be totally MR2-less, but would still like to stay active in the community and provide information/knowledge of what I have learnt of the MR2 over the past 10 years of owning them.

I know quite a few decent people from other forums GT4OC, Supra owners, Skyline owners, 300zx owner who cant believe the standard of the MR2 owners clubs for being bitchy, complaining and generally unhelpful. Shame really that others think of us this way.

all fair coment mate.. =D>

just to add however... I've a friend on SXOC and he says how NICE and pleasant this site is in comparision - says that the members on IMOC seem to be more tollerant of what appear to be stupid questions etc etc..

this goes in complete opposite to what yuor friends on other sites think of IMOC.

not getting into the whole interclub relations but i personally don;t see anything wrong with a bit of banter on threads. If people have no sense of humour it's not my fault.. people take offence to some replies when in all honesty they should take a step back, relax and go with the flow.

I do however feel the avareg age of the average MR2 owner would be less of that of say a Skyline - and therfore the attitude on other sites would be different accordinly (on the whole.. ) think that makes sense :-k

Would that be any better?

also the car is now getting old and therefor cheaper - available to younger people with a couple of grand to spare - who lets face it do not need storage or extra seats for babies and kids and family.

why would they blow 10k on a skyline that is EXPENSIVE to run, insure, - has 3 more seats than they need..

oh well.... MR2 - the next XR2 [-(

Juic'in, its the same with all the car clubs - I'm on a lot of forums and yes even the Skyline clubs have rivalry between SOC and GTROC - the more sensible/mature among them ignore it but there is no doubt some of the members feel that. Same with the MR2 Clubs I guess.

Looking around I generally think IMOC is a nice place to be, and no doubt people with their various affiliations to different clubs feel the same - it's where you feel you fit and where your mates are that makes the difference.

We don't ask to you to pay btw, it's all free. If you don't want to it's your choice! But we find a lot of people like to contribute, and just as well else we wouldn't be here! Premium membership has now enabled us to pay for a dedicated server and a long awaited V2 of the site. So it's fantastic when people feel they want to contribute.

Believe me when I say the Skyline people are now feeling the same...it ain't that expensive to buy and run one nowadays, with R33GTRs going for £10K or so and GTS-Ts for under £5K!!

I used to think that about MR2s, but then I realised the whole 'Japanese Performance Sector' was similarly 'effected' - they are nice, fast, reliable cars and some of the lads will happily spend all their cash on them, so they are not so unaffordable. So putting aside most 17 year olds fresh out of their test there are a LOT of young chaps with all of the marques nowadays. Yep even RX7s
