I hope you're not [-X at me

Agreed that the front could be dropped and rear spats ok, but I'd leave it there.... Then put the rims on and stand back and admire =P~

Anything with low profile tyres is bone jarring.
It makes my moobs wobble around look gooduns.
I think a woman with rather large breastorials once broke her bra in my car once =D>

No idea what ones they are though, were already on it.

Actually, while the 18s do bounce me around more than the 15s i found my stock wheels "crashed and banged" (pot holes etc) even more than my 18s.

hmm well my fuel consumption isn't too different to a moded tubby when i put my foot down (and that can't be helped coz it's made of lead  )

but yes i would like patrick to make mine the 1st beams turbo (that i know of) but i dont know how much bhp i'd be ab;e to get out of it (want 300 min @ the wheels ideally) 8-[

and leeroy the [-X wasn't aimed at you honey-was meerly showing my disgust at the front height of my car

matt the ride in my car is solid already-i doubt i will have my mind changed (i'm used to the go kart up the pod) \:D/

Chick,

I would defo go for a border bumper on you car or if you want to keep things cheap maybe a Greddy front lip?

Lowered and Border spats will look great!

I think that is all that is needed to finish the car off and tone it in with the side skirts 8)

Looking forward to seeing the car with the Blitz rims on as well =P~

oh, and keep the rev 2 rear lights

Looking sweet, keep it up =D>

i do but there's 2 reasons why i'm undecided

a) i'm concerned about reliability

b) i dont want to get dissed for turboing an extreamly rare engine :(

a) not sure about a turbod beams reliability, but I've had 2 MR2 turbos now and touch wood both have been sweet!

b) I won't diss ya  all about originality 8)

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be reliable - lots of people are turboing high compression NA engines these days, it's not a rare thing like it used to be -- just look at the turboed 1ZZ's and 2ZZ's in Roadsters now - the 2ZZ is 11.5:1 compression and the 1ZZ is 10:1 (the Beams is 11.5:1).

With the right tuning that's emminently doable, although you won't get huge peak power from the boost with a compression ratio that high (at least not on regular petrol - you could on race fuel ;)), so you might want to consider dropping the compression ratio a little with low CR pistons.

Can't find a dyno plot now to show what a high comp FI 2ZZ produces as Spyderchat's search feature appears to be broken  d'oh..

hey becci just thought i have your'e same engine in my japanese imported
lexus altezza auto tiptronic and what a fantastic motor drive, but i dare not tune it as it is the every day car :( ...well if i did with the 2 tuning i'd be even more than broke.

btbh if i were rich i would tune the lexus top to bottom the full monty like
we do the 2's...grr stop now...she is gunmetal grey, hey just like your's now so would do the carbon fibre effect department for sure... :-k

that's it hit the nail on the head and carbon fibre is the way forward...in the ideal world of course

carbon fibre ganador mirrors
rev5 wing carbon blade
carbon bonnet
carbon engine lid
toms front bumper...love border 2 but bear in mind they sit vvlow and every day it can catch on bumps :-k
or
pop a greddy under bumper plitter...again consider every day practical
tighten lower suspension with teins
border rear spats
keep the rims you have
:P
think that is what i would do with time and funds being available

agree with aaronb the turbo can be done as well,
to contain costs i would refine tuning with bolt on parts for now,ohh
a supercharger would be interesting 2  :P :-k

laters...

Regarding turboing the VVTI engines, which this may not apply to Toyota engines but a number of other marks with normal and VVTI versions of their lumps (notably the k series engine) have trouble turboing the VVTI, and in the case of the K you have to remove the variable valve timing to get much more power out of it.

That said, people seem to be having a lot of luck supercharging the Civic engines (though you have to think the Honda VTEC engines are MILES ahead of ours) so perhaps the first supercharged Beams would be a more reliable route?

patrick has mastered the way forward on how to turbo the beams lump when i last spoke to him (its not cheap though-looking at around 5 grand i think) but thats a price to pay for being original i guess-i'd love to do it but that would also mean buying a spare car for when i blow it up (which with me driving it is enevitable 8-[ :clown: :cyclops: )

:-$ i didn't say that

Speaking of the 1ZZ (which has VVTI), the VVT maps do get changed, but not by a huge amount, and it takes the turbo just fine.

The 2ZZ, on the other hand (which is VVTL-i) has a hard time making boost (well, to be accurate it just spits the boost straight out of the exhaust port) unless you do some serious juggling to the VVTL maps - but it can be done, and it makes good boost once it comes on cam.

I imagine the Beams would be closer to the 1ZZ than the 2ZZ (since it's only VVTI, not VVTL-i)
