Comparing oranges and apples here, Obviously these super duper pads will be better for track use than the"death traps" I have fitted due to them being more expensive.

Just seems because people own a set of pads, they are the best you can buy, all others opinions are irrelevant..
.
But i suppose thats what this forums about
I use these 99% on road and street in london and 1% on track and is my daily driver car.
I use to believe any old pad will do as they are all the same with alittle difference and thought big brake kits etc are way to go until one day i read a whole aload of forums evo rx7 gtr honda etc and all said carbotech no real negatives eg.Price, dust, disc etc apart from that.
.
.
all 100% positive so hmm tried and tested ax6 i was shock how good they were.
kev8611 wrote:so what research did you do to come up with the conclusion that ebc's are death traps..

seems like quite a bit of research then, so what research did you do to come up with the conclusion that ebc's are death traps..

? Obviously, Im just curious as I have them so I just want to make sure I am not going to die when I press the brakes

Ashley, yeah fair do's but my point being the price difference, Not saying it is you or anyone personally that have this way on the forum but just in general![]()

I am more concerned about driving my car as the brakes might not work

These pads you guys are on about are 150+..
.
.
clearly they are going to be good.
.
.
.
but because they are that good, does that make the other pads
"death traps"? so really.
.
.
no one should fit them to any car?

It's a fair point, if you just need average braking performance then go for it..
.or even stock pads in that case

Edit: just reflecting on the title of this thread..
.we are talking about upgrading here.
.
.not just average braking performance.
But still- I take your point mate

Nah, but I bet for most cars the std toyota pads are fine. When I first got my current car it was on standard oem pads and I was more than happy with the performance on the street tbh.
I've had bad experiences with ebc, which has put me off using them.![]()
But then i've seen and been in Pistol Petes sprint car which has ebc yellows on it and hes run that thing damn hard all day at several track and sprint events with no fade.![]()
Another thing to think about is if the bed in process has been completed correctly.I'm pretty sure thats the reason my brakes completely wilted half way through a day at Castle coombe, because I never bothered to do any bedding in with them when I first got them.

^^ and posts like this show a complete lack of understanding the basics never mind upgrading.
My brakes lock the wheels therefore are in no need of upgrading.

.
Brilliant thinking
