No need to sit at the computer, thats what the 50" plasma is for.

Computer doesnt even need to be in the same room.

The computer doubles as a HTPC which can play blu-ray/HD DVD's and has all my music and videos on which are available at the touch of a button.

Controlling the PC can be done through the iPhone.

Yes, I've done all that myself in various ways, but it's still not as consumer friendly as a straightforward console.

I have a DLNA server running on my iMac that works with the PS3 and has every MST3K episode available on it as well as the entire iTunes library.

I know many others disagree but i think FPS need to be played with a keyboard and mouse.

Also games like C&C are useless on game consoles using the controllers.

I don't know how well the games might support it, but these consoles have USB ports

- I've got a PS2

(as in, PlayStation 2) keyboard from my PS2 Linux kit upstairs which would look very nice hooked up to the PS3, as well as the Dreamcast also having a keyboard

- and indeed, the Xbox 360 has the messenger keypad, which if supported by a game as a controller could be really useful.

Do the ports from PC retain any vestigial code to support keyboard input?

And Goto10

- I eat LARD with my hands, not butter! Seriously, I just find the Sixaxis uncomfortable compared to the 360 controller.

I plan to get a Dualshock3 when Amazon gets them back in; last I looked they were

£27 on Amazon and

£35-39 in the shops
