How's the polishing going?

You checked ebay yet, see if you can get an air line for your garage? More compressed air being blown over the engine than through it, I hear?

Shut it you or I'll tell you how much of a ball ache it will be to fit your chargecooler

Hey, I'll save an hour as my front bumper has already been changed and is all stainless steel fasteners :oldtongue:

Uh huh, you keep that in mind when you're doing it :oldtongue:

p1$$ taking aside, awesome car though. Mapping in Surrey, that's a hell of a treck! I had my old car mapped in Cov by Thor. :thumleft:

It's a completely different animal now, even when only going as high a 5 PSI! Well, 10 PSI accidentally, just before it spa a vac hose and went mad

All sorted now though and worth all the effort. :thumleft:

So long as nothing else pops up before then, yes

I'll be doing a pre visit health check, to ensure hoses etc are still connected etc. Loving the screamer pipe, even though! :D

Oi! Thought you were keeping boost down 'til you had mapping done!

How do you know what the screamer pipe sounds like? :-k

Well it all started when i was driving back *queue a story*

I was using some boost (no more than 10 PSI for sure  ) and found it was making a chuffing type sound through the screamer. So in the name of ensuring all was working correctly, I felt I had to switch the EVC on to check it was an issue with the wastegate etc  It does work, however too much and it causes the car to sit it's vac hoses off.

*Yawn* Morning all.

Right then, part two of the fun and frolics. The photos aren't the best and there's not too many, as we really just wanted to focus on getting it finished.

Day 2 kicked off with running the hoses to the pre rad
Image

Th current state at the bum end of the car
Image

Bumper bar back on, after a bit of a tidy up
Image

Half the bolts broke when removing the bumper, so they had to be dealt with
Image

Bumper back on
Image

The chargecooler core could now be mounted. Much easier than fitting an IC, but still a fighter
Image

The swirl pot was being mounted in the boot, so holes for the hoses had to be cut and grommets fitted
Image

Image

Standard ECU, with a couple of HKS bolt-ons (SLD and FCD)
Image

Image

Starting to plumb in the CC core
Image

The bracket we fabbed for mounting the swirl pot
Image

Front end fully assembled
Image

Image

Under trays back on. Not a job I'd rush to do again
Image

Front end back on the ground \:D/
Image

Hole and grommet on the other side
Image

Swirl pot mounted. Needs a polish again
Image

Image

All CC plumbing completed, time to bleed the system
Image

Bleeding was going fairly well, until Peter spotted the car had had an accident at the front end #-o
Image

Both joints were leaking. My fault for not checking them properly #-o

The left side was an easy fix, as it was accessible from the front
Image

The right was was more tricky, however luckily I managed to access the clamp front the top of the frunk (over the rad) and rotate the clamp before adjusting it
Image

*Cut to some time later*

CC was bled, everything installed, wired in etc etc, time for the first fire up :D

It lives!
Image

The idle was high, due to the existing map from Rob's car
Image

All done. Well, for now..
Image

Image

Image

Went out for a test drive and it ran like a champ. Felt quicker than the old set-up straight off and only going as far as 5-6 PSI :D The noise is fantastic, with the sound of the turbo spooling away all the time.

I managed to blow off a vac hose on the way home, however a quick clamp later and it's all good, ready for a trip to see Ryan on Monday for mapping. \:D/

All in all it was an epic 3 days. A huge amount of work was done, but that first drive made it all worthwhile. My thanks to Peter for his efforts and putting up with my somewhat relentless pace (until my brain crashed about 6pm each day  ) :thumleft:

Awesome stuff mate, looks a tidy install. Just mapping now! \:D/

I notice you conveniently left out the picture of the boot carpet where you'd attempted to cut the holes for the swirl pot fixings and hoses

You and Peter are like a couple of housewives, with all your gossiping

It got to the time of day when my hands didn't listen to the brain, which ends in carpet with non-round holes in  Even worse was that fact I was doing fully aware I wanted to take the carpet out altogether :-k #-o

Thanks :thumleft:

Hoping to get somewhere around 450 bhp, although a good safe, reliable map is more important than absolute power. No point spending all this time and effort, to blow the thing up a month down the line.
